Why do Christians celebrate our Savior's resurrection on the wrong day?

This year the Church will celebrate our Savior's resurrection on March 27. However HE was crucified on Nissan 14, Passover, our April 22, almost one month later.

This means HIS resurrection will always occurs three days later, Nissan 17 or this year on our April 25.

They will worship ME in spirit and in TRUTH!

GOD Bless!

The resurrection is always celebrated on the same day of the lunar calendar every year. The same calendar that was used in the region. It is always the first Sunday, after the first full moon, after the vernal equinox. How that lines up with the solar calendar is irrelevant.

Does it really matter we get the day exactly right? Or is it more important we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, that we celebrate His birth and life, that we repent and ask His forgiveness, and that we try to live our lives as Christ did?

I guess it is time to pull out your history books dear.

There is more calendars being used world-wide besides the Jewish Calendar ( God's Calendar, or Hebrew Calendar ) dear. Understand that Christians are not under the Mosaic Law, so our calendar is Civil.

Have you ever heard of the Gregorian Calendar ?

Also known as the Western Calendar, or the Christian Calendar, which is based on a solar cycle. It is a widely used civil calendar name after Pope Gregory XIII. who introduced it in 1582.

The Gregorian Calendar later had Daylight Savings Time introduced to it, & is used by many countries. It 1st was used in 1908 in Thunderbay, Canada.

During WWI, in an effort to conserve fuel, Germany began observing DST on May 1, 1916. In 1918 This plan was adopted by the US in March 1918, started by President Lyndon B. Johnson.

Benjamin Franklin invented, conceived during his sojourn as an American delegate in Paris in 1784, in an essay, " An Economical Project", which was meant to be a joke, but still became popular.

The Hebrew Calendar is a luni-solar calendar used predominately for Jewish religious observances ( the Bcal Jewish Calendar ), it determines the dates of Jewish holidays, the appropiate public readings of Torah portions, Yahrzeits, ( dates to commemorate the death of a relate ), & daily Psalm readings, among many ceremonial uses, used in Israel for religious purposes, provide time frame for agriculture, & is an official calendar for civil purposes. But the latter usage has been steadily declining in favor of the Georgian Calendar.

Jehovah' Witnesses celebrate Jesus' death on Nisan 14th every year. This year it is March 23rd, after sundown, just like the first century christians would have done.

Luke 22: 19,20..."keep doing this in remembrance of me."

I don't know why people choose to worship on Saturday when God commanded the First Day of the week.

There was a special three day Sabbath then. and each year. This why Jesus stayed dead for there days, or no one would have been out!

Jesus was killed on a Wednesday! Arrested the Tuesday!

God does not care what day you celebrate his birthday but based on some calculations that I did several years ago, I believe Jesus as born April 6th.

I think it's funny how you Christians think you know things you don't.

Nobody has confirmed Jesus even existed, let alone the date he was killed.
