What is the wage for a 17 year old in SoCal?

In job applications I've read "what wage/salary do you expect: $_____ per ____"

I don't really have confidence to negotiate my pay, and since I'm still living with my parents for now, this money is extra for things I just want. So in a sense, this money isn't a necessity for now (but hell, money is money) until I'm actually in college. So what is good number to put,I asked my mom if I should put $9/hr and she said ABSOLUTELY NOT.

    minimum wage is the wage for SoCal..look up the minimum wage for your state

    I started working in palm springs at the age of 18 and my pay was 8.50 . im 24 now though so that was quite sometime now :(

    What ever minimum wage is locally.

    U not qualified for anything else
