Men: Do other men in passing walking on the sidewalk attempt to walk directly into you?

A couple of guys have explained this thing that guys do to each other in passing like some kind of power play. One in particular is tall and used to weigh a lot. He was ignored when he was heavy, but now that he's tall and slim men puff their chest out and try to walk into him. The guys who have told me about this were not macho kind of guys, but are attractive. So, I'm curious, is it that these macho guys see them as competition and feel the need to power play them as a way of saying don't think you're so hot because I could pummel you, or what?

Update:

I also want to know how you think a guy should respond to that. Step aside, standoff, or...?

Update 2:

Interesting...One guy had the courage to admit that this happens to him and then deleted his answer, which was a simple "yes"

Not really. I'm a Midwestern guy who's quick to apologize when I bump into somebody by accident. Other Midwestern guys are quick to smile and accept my apology. Those city boys though will try to shoulder you up. I don't get it, but I have become accustomed to not giving them an inch.

I've seen men and women do something like that. I guess they're trying to project a sense of superiority.

No. But I am 6' tall and weigh 20 stones (280 lbs) so that may be why.

I've seen it happen, but mostly back in my high school days. It's basically a game of chicken based on insecurity.

Can't say its ever happened to me. Seems like actions of a mentally challenged person.
