Why will the NRA no longer offer its basic pistol course after 5/15/2016?

I was looking at the NRA course list on their website, and I noticed that they will not offer their basic pistol course after May of this year. Why are they not going to offer the course anymore? Here is a link, if you want to check it out. http://www.nrainstructors.org/CatalogInfo.aspx?cid...

The course is changing to the demands of today, and today's new firearm owners. For many years now I have found the need to make a VERY long day of a GOOD quality course, especially when it is for a class of NEW handgun owners. People just are not up to speed with mechanical gadgets like they used to be. We in addition have MANY first time owners, who have ABSOLUTELY no idea. So this online prep course kind of addresses things for a beginner.See, the NRA approach has always included " The Proper Mindset " in their instruction.

Really Your NRA Certified instructor WILL be the same, the course just a little different. BUT, is basically as good as ever,. Pretty much only expanded, and re-named.

The value has never been duplicated. The NRA has been the primary source for Firearm Safety Instruction....AND WILL REMAIN SO. Been doing this for ya, for many years. Times change, NRA just updated for you.

ADDED : Basically as BigHammer also says, a way for people to get up to speed, and reduce the Long Day I spoke of. GOOD ONE BigHammer.

ADDED 2 : Be absolutely certain...An NRA Instructor WILL ALWAYS provide all the time you need to learn the material.

If you click on the course it says:

"Note : This course is not available after 5/15/2016. It is recommended that you enroll in the NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting."

Looks the new course requires successful online self-study before attending the instructor led course:

They want everybody to graduate from old-fashioned pistols to Inter-Continental Ballistic Missiles armed with H-bombs. It's the AmurriKKKan way!!!!!
