Abraham Lincoln(Republican), James A. Garfield(Republican), William McKinley (Republican) and John F. Kennedy (democrat).
3 republicans, 1 democrat. However, none of them are like modern day republicans or modern day democrats.

The fact that leaders of either party get assassinated on a regular basis should be the real cause for concern. That s not something that happens in democratic countries.

Every president since WWII has had some kind of assassination plot against them. They are most often thwarted or fail.
