sin tax what do you think about it.?

Is it appropriate for state and federal governments to receive revenue from certain consumers' choices? Is a sin tax an effective policy tool for discouraging unhealthy or potentially costly behavior?

It is a sin to tax 3 times.

They take tax from what you earn, they they take tax from what you buy, then they take tax at the end of the year.

    Thats 3 times

Tobacco, alcohol (both of which I use), marijuana where legal, and other "vices" should be taxed. That is private activity that costs all of society in health care costs, law enforcement costs, education costs (FAS is a big problem in some areas), and court costs. Probably some more costs I am forgetting about.

its nothing to do with the outdated concept 'sin'

Its about raising revenue to offset the damage caused to society by unhealthy choices

Great idea, floggings and the odd stoning would also assist with this.

I think you are silly, to put it mildly.
