Flax seeds are an amazing source of fiber. Like seriously amazing. and also extremely high in protein, and omega 3, 6 and 9, fatty acids. When you consume ground flax, there are a couple of things you should know. They should be stored in the fridge or freezer in airtight containers, or they will go rancid at room temp after about a week. Also, you need to consume lots of water with flax seeds because of the high fiber content. Much like when you drink fruit juice instead of eat a raw piece of fruit, you are not getting the same fiber content. So why not buy a bag of flax seeds, keep them in the freezer and grind them as you need them, or buy them pre-ground and add them to smoothies and cereal and sprinkle on salads.
