Should I get an Automatic or Tiptronic transmission car?

There are some 2nd hand 2004 and 2005 Honda Accords I'm looking at, one of them has a Tiptronic transmission and another has an automatic. Are they any disadvantages such as costs when comparing an automatic and tiptronic?

Thanks

Not really. I'm betting the 2005 has the tiptronic? most auto transmissions now are tiptronic; they're more or less just the newer version of the standard D321 trans in older cars...that being said neither choice would be a bad choice, I would try to get the lower mileage one or if they're close then just get the newer one.

A Honda will not have a Tiptronic transmission. It may have a similar transmission but it will not be Tiptronic. Saying that avoid the 2004 Honda Accord as the transmission was weak in both the 2003 and 2004 model years.

    Not on a used car.

the tiptronc box is an auto box ...but by pushing /pulling ..sideways it converts to a sequential manual ..no gates ...just up and down to change gear ...and no clutch ....handy for overtaking
