That is a decent laptop and should handle works load well. The problem you might be having playing games is two fold. One, it has Windows 10 not much you can do about that unless you want to jump thru hoops upgrading to 7 or 8.1. The second is bloatware. You need see what is running in the back ground causing the system to lag while playing games.

What slows a lot of puters down are the amount of programs that are running in the background. Download and install CCleaner from Piriform. Once you have it installed click on tools and then startup and see what is being started when you power up. You should have no more then 5 to 10 programs running at startup for optimal performance. I have seen up to 50 programs being started when the user turned on the system. One of the programs that I found that hinders HP lappy is the support assistance. Check and see how many of the manufacturers bloat is in the start folder. Also, just about any program that you install today puts itself in the start folder. They all want to start so they can phone home. You can use the disable feature of Cleaner to stop the program from loading at startup. The great thing about the disable feature is that you can come back and add the program back to the startup if you want it. If you use delete then it is gone and you will have to add it back manually.

If you have a large number of programs running and need help deciding what to disable, then look in the bottom right corner of the window. There is a button that says save to text file. Click it and then post the text file, we will see what we can help you with.

Tip DO NOT disable or delete anything that has anything to do with the touch pad or the video card. I learned the hard way on that one.

This program can also keep your hard drive from being loaded down with junk from the internet. You should read the home page of CCleaner and see what other things it can do for you.

You can also download Process explorer. It makes it a lot easier to see what is running on your lappy. When you start Process Explorer click on options and then hover over tray icons. Click CPU history. That puts a tray icon that shows how much your CPU is being used.

You can also look at this program, PC Decrapifier. It is design to help remove bloatware that is not needed. I would recommend caution using this one. There are dragons present and it might remove something you want to keep or need.

I did not design it, I did not build it, I did not break it, but I am the one who can fix it. What that means is that I have spent a life time taking these things apart and seeing how they are made. The difficult we do right away, the impossible just takes a little longer. I hear voices, so please be quiet so I can listen to them.

My laptop's processor is pretty much equal to that and Minecraft + internet windows + Netflix and so on stay open at the same time without any trouble. Sounds like something is clogging up the memory. Try checking if you have a virus and uninstall any crap you don't need.

    1. From what I know, Radeon R6 graphics don't exist

    2. Your CPU clock is very low (1.8Ghz) and Minecraft's reliant on the processor. 2.6Ghz quad core is great for MC, even with standard laptop graphics.

    3. Try closing programs and try Game Booster. If you have Windows 10, try the Windows 10 edition of Minecraft, which is built for slower machines. If you've bought the normal version of MC, you should be able to redeem a code for the Windows 10 edition.

It's pretty OK, especially for that price you wont get a better one. Also you should've made some research BEFORE buying the laptop.

Decent laptop for work, horrible laptop for any games that aren't incredibly old.

    What settings did you change?

Try temporarily disabling 3D DriveGuard. This fixes some game lagging issues.
