    Maybe you live in an area where such accents are common, maybe Puerto Rican or other Hispanic, and you just picked up on it unintentionally. Many Californians unconsciously speak with a Chicano accent without being Chicanos. There was a time when New York accents sounded Yiddish or Italian.
