I regret not telling my high school crush how I feel. Advice?

I met this guy my sophomore year in high school. He had pretty much everything that I look for in a guy. He was tall, attractive, nice, smart, liked music, polite, funny. I think that he had a crush on me too, but we we're both too shy to do something about it. I'm now 19 and in a college that is 5 hours away. There's so many guys at my university, but I can't find a guy that I'm attracted to and that has a good personality. It seems like they all have one or the other. Even if I did find another guy like this who is to say that he'll like me back. I feel like I messed up big time and I won't find a guy that I'm attracted to, has a good personality, and likes me back. I've also never had a boyfriend or even my first kiss before. Any advice about this? Thanks!
