I've been in a sedentary job for a little over a year now. If I quit now, will I get back to how I was before I got the job?

Update:

I'm 23, and I still try and work out and do cardio and be active, but I have a sedentary job. I used to work restaurant for the previous 5 years, and felt great all the time. Now, I sometimes get back strains and am not as sharp physically as I was. I know the damages of sitting, but if I were to quit can I undo those damages permanently like they weren't even there? Or will those effects stay, even if I stay active the rest of my life. Kinda worried

There is a difference between "still try and work out" and actually working out. Which is it?

You're 23. Your life and body is what you make of it. Plenty of people have desk jobs and are perfectly healthy and fit...if they make that a priority.
