Legal help?

I recently went on vacation (driving down from New England down to Florida), while I was on vacation I was driving at night and got a speeding ticket. I got a citation and have to have either myself or a lawyer, (thats what the trooper told me) go and represent me. I would normally go, but the court date is set for a time where I can not take off for work , and I have looked for lawyers in the area but non seem to get back to me.

I'm not trying to fight the ticket, I have no valid reason for going as fast as I did, and it's my first speeding ticket ever.

Is it possible to handle the situation with the court over the phone or if there is a certain place I can go to find a lawyer to go on my behalf, or maybe I can reschedule the court date? I am just very confused on the situation, and I'm not really too sure what to do. Any thing helps! Thanks again!

If you're not contesting it most of the time you can just call them and ask what the fine is and mail it to them.

In the end all they want is you money.

Of course, if you were excessively speeding then you would need to show up in person. In some/most States 20 mph over can land you in jail for awhile. That's why some cops will change it to just 19 over.

If you're not fighting the ticket, you should be able to simply pay it. I'm sure there's a phone number on the ticket somewhere. Call it and find out.

You can mail in your fine or pay over phone. Call courthouse listed.
