My rat got out of her cage and now we can not find her. I also have a dog. What do I do? How do I find her?

Try using the bucket catching method.

First get a bucket that has a large enough depth, then get a water bottle (empty) and a straw.

Make holes in the 2 ends of the bottle and slide the straw through.

Place the water bottle going across the bucket (hanging on by the straw) and then cover it with a tasty treat like cheese.

Then put a blanket or something soft in the bottom of the bucket and some food and make a stairway going up to the bucket.

The rat will smell the cheese/(whatever treat you use) and climb up the steps, then it will try and reach the bottle to eat the treat and put its paws on it and the bottle will roll and the rat will fall into the bucket.

Heres a video if you are confused: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dkB7nUtQoKM

(I know its a hamster but just do the same thing for a rat)

If it's in the house, may be afraid of the dog..Put the dog in a room with door closed and put some cheeze out on a plate..If the rat is in the house, should come out of hiding and all will be fine

Do you have a high pitched squeak toy? Squeeze it to draw her out.
