My friend copies everything off of me?
Ok so, I have this friend of mine that literally copies everything that I do and we've been friends since kindergarden and right now I'm in 7th grade. It all started in 5th grade when I decided I wanted to make an Instagram account so I did and told her about it, and she made one. Then, she starts copying me about me liking anime, she said she disliked anime, and now all the sudden she likes it? I also told her about how I like POCKY and now she eats it all the time and rubs it in my face once she buys a box. She also copies the way I type and text. Also, I started aesthetically posting on Instagram with really nice photos and now she's copying me with that too! She also copies this band I like called twenty one pilots and im about done. I confronted her about it and she says she didn't copy me which is completely a lie. Please help!!!

Dude.. I feel you! I started dressing gothy my Freshman year (been into bands since 4th grade though) and ever since my Sophomore year of high school one of my so-so friends has been gothy ever since. It's annoying. I really wish I could block him on Instagram and Facebook so I don't have to watch him pretend to be me.
People are gonna tell you don't flatter yourself and that they're not copying you but I know how you feel.. Your friend is definitely copying you. She's most likely just trying to impress you though. Best thing to do is just ignore it and do you. In the end, she's the one that's not true to herself. She'll find who she is with time.

So stop telling her what you're doing.
She's trying to figure out how to be an adult and is using you as a role model. You don't HAVE to be that roll model. Turn it around and ask her opinion on everything first, discuss things. Have her take the initiative. Use HER as a potential role model just to get her to make up her own mind about things.

You do realize that is how the world works, and how people end up liking things, right? They see other people doing it, they go "Oh, that's cool/better than I thought it was" and then they end up liking it.
You aren't special or unique for doing any of the things you have done or liking any of the things you like.
Hell, I could say that YOU are copying ME because I'm older than you and I did all those things and liked all those things before you did.
Get over your special snowflake syndrome, and enjoy the fact that you've got someone who is into the same stuff you are.
EDIT: Twenty One Pilots has 1,369,712 fans on Facebook. You didn't exactly discover them...

i can see why your friend is annoying. I would not want a friend like that, obviously she is insecure about who she is and maybe she's trying to find out who she is and she is trying to define herself, she is confused about herself. Insecurity or wanting to be "more like you". Sure we have people in our lives who we look up to and may want to be that person but that can cause some issues in their life as well as other people around them. If she was my friend, I would let her know that you're annoying me by copying me and I don't like it when you do that. It is annoying and i think you need to find your own interests, don't be someone that you're really not.

So your friend likes what you like, get over it, there are bigger problems in the world to worry about.
