into their teens and older if cared for very well. I had one die last summer who was 22 years old. it can also depend on the breed. One site I looked at claimed they live 7-10 years which means most of the cats I had should have died a long time ago.

The average is 15 but it can depend on the breed and genetics. Diet and healthcare can make a lot of difference indoor cats live longer.

I have seen cats live longer than 20 years. Mine is 15 and he is still full of trouble.
