I recently bought a home with a flat roof...?

The roof is this tan colored membrane cover that looks like its heated together to form a bond unlike roof with adhesive or glue of some kind. Its almost like a leather look but more soft, but strong enough to make a good seal. Does anybody know what kind of roofing material this is? Here is a picture of it.

it's probably "built-up roof - depending on what kind of shape its in you could be in for an expensive replacement sooner than later - i own 2 houses with flat roofs and have has to have them both entirely redone in the last 24 months - $5700 ofr teh first one, $6300 for the 2nd one and then you have to get them re-coated every 2-3 yrs - more cost

Your reference to membrane is correct.

Your pic did not come through.
