Firefox will not open?

When I try to open Firefox, I get a message: "Couldn't load XPCOM" I do not know what XPCOM is. Do you know how I can repair this problem ?

    On my computer, running Firefox V45.0.2, a search for XPCOM only found it as part of Libre Office. Sorry - not much help.

    Sounds like a corrupted installation. From the Internet, many say you have to completely un-install Firefox then remove (delete) the firefox folders/directories in the programs folder.

    Then, install the latest version.
