Is it good idea to buy oil stocks to keep for couple years for investment?

    I think it is a reasonable contrarian idea.

    However, be careful of what you buy. There are smaller companies that may not survive, particularly fracking plays and oil service companies. The largest and safest (XOM, COP) are unlikely to lead any rally.

    I think the sweet spot is the midcap companies that are strong enough to survive, but still able to grow. One I own is NBL.

    Not yet. Wait until mid July when oil tests the lows. That will be the time to buy.
