What is Credit Karma?

Is it a real credit information website? Is it free or is there a fee? Can I use it if I recently looked at my annual credit report?

I am trying to verify a collection notice that was for hospital bills from back in 2011.

The hospital has a program for low income patients that cant pay their bills. Somehow, I feel they made a mistake or they went back on their word.

They collection notice & information on the credit report don't match.

Ive even checked my DMV record just to hope its not identity theft. Thank goodness my DMV information is correct.

Creditkarma is a website that makes up a credit score and tells you what number they picked to give you.

It is free, which is appropriate, because it's also worthless. It is not your score anywhere else, just on their website.

It does not give you any credit information. It just tells you what score they decided to tell you.

If you want to see your ACTUAL credit reports, go to www.annualcreditreport.com.

What is or is not on your credit record, however, does not determine what is a valid debt. If you have questions about the debt, take it up with the original creditor (apparently a hospital in your case).
