On this National Day of Prayer, aren't Christians all over the country displaying their hypocrisy?

In Matthew 6:5 (KJV), Jesus says:

"And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward."

No. I'm displaying my hypocrisy by being totally unaware of the call to prayer. Youre just trolling, right?

In a way many Christians are it's one thing to gather together to pray and worship God together but outside of churches which are places of prayer and worship whether the person prays alone by themselves or as a group together it should be done in privacy. Then comes the question why they are praying is it to build themselves up before other people making spectacles of themselves or are they praying to God on the behalf of themselves or the behalf of other people which is why people gather together for prayer. You can tell the difference between the two types of people.

For instance someone which attends Mass everyday or on the Lord's Day and other holy days of obligation and are judgmental of other people that don't do what they do for them they enjoy making a spectacle of themselves believing they are better than other people in such as case such a person is actually wicked (evil doer) in which Jesus will say He does not know them. The thing I learned about people that are judgmental towards other people tend to live immorally themselves they are the Pharisees they judge and condemn people for their sins yet they don't acknowledge their own sins which they commit. I can tell a person what is sin but I wont judge a person for the sins which they commit it's not my place that is how I live my life. What I live by I'm not better than you and you are not better than me even if you believe you are better than me. An example of pride would be someone let's say earns $300,000 a year believing they are better than the person that only earns $35,000 a year having had more opportunities with their education and people they know social status to someone like me that person that earn $300,000 a year is no better or worse than the person that only earns $35,000 a year because I don't judge people based upon their income or material wealth. Another example people praise Hollywood celebrates or professional athletes they might have talent but just remember this they are people and all people have faults therefore they are really no better or worse than average people. This is what Jesus lived by and like St. Matthew when He went over to his house the home of a tax collector that worked for the Romans a wealthy man Jesus didn't judge him even though others had including they had judged Jesus for taking St. Matthew up on his offer coming over to his house and eating with him.

Now if a person goes to Mass everyday of the week and on the Lord's Day and other holy days of obligation in which they don't point that out to other people as their faults guess what they are keeping what Jesus commanded of them. The same applies to prayer if people whom gather together just to make a spectacle of themselves let's say before the media and other people they are not keeping to what Jesus commanded as Jesus would call them hypocrites.

The Pharisees liked to pray outside so others could see them and think how religious and holy they are. The motive was impure. On the National Day of Prayer, we gather together to pray for our country. It is not to bring attention to ourselves.

    yes you are correct.

But its a national day because christians were feeling that their freedom of peacefull assembly is being threatened. and freedom of speech and freedom of religion..

so back when Jesus lived.. they didnt have to worry about that like we do now.

    Times are a changin'

1Ti 2:8 I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.

    See how important context is!

    Peter Freed from Prison

5 Peter was therefore kept in prison, but constant prayer was offered to God for him by the church.

corporate prayer is different... we (Christians) can pray as a body....

Pointing fingers at those who pray, is judging and worse than praying in public (sic).
