My radio in my car stopped playing. The main unit is ok. I think its just the removable faceplate. Can I just replace the faceplate?

How the heck do you even know that the main unit is OK in the first place it only works with the faceplate. How can you even say that if the its stopped playing?

The cost of buying a new faceplate will be almost the same as buying a whole new unit. Then you take the risks of not being sure that its the main unit that is bad.

Well the face plate as a rule has little to do with how the radio operates unless there are electronic components found in it. So if you radio stopped working there are many other possibilities other than the one you mentioned.

only with something that is compatible with the unit.
