Why is sling TV not working on my Roku 2 device? The loading wheel just spins and spins and spins.?

My roku 2 won t play sling tv. I contacted sling support and they had all the normal recommendations, restart the device, refresh the router, restart the modem change the connectivity settings, all did not help. Finally they sent me an email saying to go to support setting and turn on logging for their techies. How can I get it to work?

The answer after hours of research online is simple the pinging was enabled on the roku 2. The easiest way to reset to factory settings and disable pings in the setup process.

Those of you that don't want to redownload and enter your info into all the apps can access the secret menus. The first secret menu you need is to update your roku 2 software. From the home screen, push the home button times then the forward button 3 times, and then the reverse button 2 times. Goto software update, and update it. The roku will restart. Then on the home screen push the home button 5 times, the forward, play, reverse, play, forward buttons. Another secret menu pops up, go to system operation menu here you can disable pings and add allow traveling while you are in the menu. Should start working now, if you had the same problem with sling TV as I did.

By following the directions from Roku.

All anyone here could tell you is mostly the same stuff as tech support.

Is the Roku connecting to your local network (wifi) properly?

Do other services work? (E.g. YouTube)

It is also possible you got a defective Roku but at this point you'll have to keep working with tech support to see what they can do.
