Copier/Printer end of Lease?

So my question is what does the leasing company do with the printer at the end of the lease? We have 3 months on our current lease and then we have a buyout figure or we have to pay to ship it back if we don't want to keep the machine. Our last machine was a local company and at the end of the lease they were responsible for picking it up...3 years later that machine is still sitting in our office. We like the current machine but we might just go back to using the old one as it's still sitting there. However, is the buyout negotiable with the lease companies? what do they even do with the leased copiers when they get them back?

    1) Everything is negotiable.

    2) The leasing company would probably sell it to a used equipment dealer who will resell it to someone else.

Make a counter offer. It will probably still be more than the leasing company will get from the dealer.
