is it generally safe to jog at night?

about half a mile away from my house is a gym i go to. I was tired this morning and want to go around 8 or 9 pm and stay a couple hours and be back home before 12.

Its summer and im tired of waking up at 5 am to go to the gym. its starting to get hot and night is just better for me.

it's just that at night i sometimes see some homeless wondering around . there is this one guy who sleeps at the same bus stop every night and he seems to be doing fine. i don't see why i can't go jogging in the evenings .

the area is well lit and there is a constant flow of traffic through the area. cameras too .

think ill be fine?

depends on the country, region, and neighborhood you live in.

    there is no "generally".

visibility is low in dark areas, and the bad guys have an easier time preying on people at night.

not as many people are out, so help is more unlikely if you are attacked or injured.

if you live in the countryside and you're asking this, then lol wtf. although you say the area has constant traffic and light, so i'd say it'd probably fine.

you know your area better than i do, so you should make the call.
