Please can Muslim ladies answer this question?

Asalam mu alaikum

So basically, I am a 17 year old girl... Born a Muslim. My parents are both Muslims, my mum never really answers any of my questions that I have about Islam, probably because she doesn't know herself. And I can't really ask my dad because they're not ones to ask him.

In Islam is it permissible to remove arm and leg hair?

Is it allowed to remove the hair of the moustache region?

Please can you keep the language simple as I don't understand the complicated Arabic words... And can you provide quotes from the Quran if possible?

Jazakallah in advance!

I have already answered this question: please see the responses to questions nos. 451 and 742. In summary, it is permitted to remove the hair of the legs. Islamic schools of thought say that a woman may remove all her body hair, such as that on the arms or legs, if removing it will increase her beauty, but she must leave whatever makes her beautiful, so she is forbidden to shave the hair on her head. (al-Mawsu‘ah al-Fiqhiyyah, 18/100).

Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: “If removing hair from the eyebrows is done by plucking, this is namas (plucking the eyebrows) and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) cursed the naamisah (the woman who plucks eyebrows) and the mutanammisah (the woman who has her eyebrows plucked). This is a major sin, and women are singled out in this ruling because they are the ones who usually do this, for the purpose of beautification, but if a man were to do it he would also be cursed, just as a woman is cursed for doing this, Allaah forbid.

So you can take all your hair off... just leave the eyebrows!

Just use your own mind and do what pleases you and not base your life off of what someone else say you should do. No disrespect to any religion and especially yours since I'm talking to you because my intentions aren't meant to be offensive to you. Life is very short and we aren't promised tomorrow so at least do yourself a favor and shave what you want to shave to make yourself feel the way you are intending to feel after doing so. Of course you don't want to go against what you were taught to believe in and I know you don't want to upset your parents but you cannot, for anyone, govern yourself to tradition. Not all the time anyway. There's a way to respect your religion and do what is satisfying to you in the respect realm of your beliefs. I say life is short and it is but I'm not saying to just do whatever but to do just the little things that makes a person happy. Like being a female and wanting to shave your moustache, and legs and arms.

Source(s): Once again, I mean no disrespect. I mean well by what I'm saying. I grew up Christian and as I got older, I steered away from religion altogether because I wanted to be my own person. Nothing against any religion but I felt like I wasn't being fulfilled in life confining myself to a certain method of living. And I'm no bad person, I do right by everyone, don't drink, don't smoke, love everyone and every living thing. My parents thought I was evil at first. Even though I did nothing evil but they understand now because the see that I mean no harm. I still believe in a higher power and I still give money to the church and other charities. That's just me though. I hope you find the answer that you're looking for. Take care.
