Let's say the UK leaves the E.U.?

Currently the PM of the UK appoints a minister to the E.U. Parliament and has a vote with other E.U. domestic leaders to appoint the commissioner and the president, these duties will not be in the hands of the UK's PM.

The response to this can be, good, we want nothing to do with the unelected Whitehall bureaucrats just as we have nothing to do with the bureaucrats in Europe who are given their workload from, erm, the elected leaders of the countries which also has MEPs. Bad (as we've no alternative power base internationally or let us make something that can serve the interests of the nations that join it, let's call it The Co-operative Commonwealth and base it in Guyana, 1stly we agree it must belong to NATO and must also defend the national interests of who have joined it, this would mean that it recognises the UK's claim to the Falkland Islands and rejects claims that Islas Malvinas are the correct names for them, 2ndly the president is elected by the people as is the vice president, the co-operative commonwealth then has ministers elected by the elected leaders of the countries that make up the co-operative commonwealth.
