Riding mower won't crank?

When the key is turned to the start position, nothing happens. It doesn't turn over. I had to run a jumper cable from the + terminal to the stud on the starter to crank it.

Replaced the ignition switch. Same problem.

Replaced the starter solenoid. It solved the problem several years ago, but it still doesn't crank. Same problem.

What should I check next?

Could be a safety switch or the pto lever is in the engaged position. Also most lawn tractors have a fuse. If the fuse is blown it won't start or do anything.

I assume this is a riding lawn mower? You have a safety switch on the bottom of your seat and brake pedal. Need to check those.
