    Brackets are required.

    Is it meant to be -

    (1/3) log x = 1 ?

    If so:-

    log x = 3

    x = 1000 ______for log base 10

    −1/3 log(x) = 1

    log(x) = −3

    x = 10^(−3) = 1/1000 = 0.001
