I m 35 and mom is 58... She still tries to boss me around... I m over it...?

I m 35, I m Bipolar (type 2), and ever since I was a child, I ve had a problem with authority figures. As a result of my having issues with authority figures, I ended up in juvenile hall, youth corrections, and have also served time as an adult for doing ignorant things. Anyway, I was taught to be independent, and to never depend on anyone for anything. I do fine when I live by myself. But currently, my mom doesn t make enough at her job to be able to afford her own place, so she resides with me temporarily. I understand that everyone has to deal with authority figures at places like a job, and to disobey that kind of authority will get me fired. But, when it comes to my mom, no matter what advice she gives me, I fight her every step of the way, because I feel like I will learn best by experience. My mom constantly tells me what to do, and I feel like I m losing my independence, so I am thinking about ditching her or kicking her out... she s THAT aggravating... when she dies, I won t have her nagging at me, and I would be relieved. My mom says I m disrespecting her, and I tell her I m grown and I ll do as I please whether she likes it or not. I m not one who can be tamed. So, what s wrong with that? I m an Aquarius too, in case that may explain any further...

    Whoa I feel the same way about my mom! I was never a trouble maker though! I would like to tell you this, you need to stop getting yourself into trouble and I understand that your are bipolar though. Ask the doctor for something to help the bippolar problem if you haven't yet. Anyways, I feel you because my mom is really annoying! I'm 20 and she would just tell me what to do all the darn time! She gets upset every time to go on Facebook or if I just wanna listen to my music on my tablet! She just even get mad when I ask her a simple question of if I tell her that I feel depress and suicidal! Do you wanna know what she said? "Oh only stupid people think sudical!" and she would brush it off. I also sometimes wish my mom dies! I'm sure everyone has felt that they wish someone dies. All i got to say is fine pay her no mind and let her know that you are an adult and that she can't keep treating you like a child because those days are over!

    You're the problem. She loves you and wants to help you, poor woman. My sympathies are all with her, cuz dealing with you sounds absolutely impossible.

    If you really were mature, you'd just ignore what she says and do what you want without being obnoxious and disrespectful.

    Well, where would she go if you kick her out? Help her start looking for a place that she can afford, or get housing assistance.
