Your thinking that makes you cynical, not them. HOWEVER, the nature of your cynicism is that most people are cynics. That would be ironic if not so textbook. You're projecting your cynical nature on the world around you and then seeing it reflected back to you. Having one's perceptions so altered by one's predisposition is the root of confirmation bias.

you are the cynical one, the one that sees others as doing things for selfish reasons. They could also be cynical, but that is not what you are saying when you discuss your own attitudes rather than their actual attitudes. That is, they may actually be doing things for selfish purposes, but we cannot know that based on your information. All we know is that YOU think that, and that YOU are cynical-you distrust the motives of others. this may lead you to disregard others and be cynical in your actions as well as your perceptions.
