Are we responsible to treat these creatures as humanely as possible, even in the process of killing them for our benefit? give me more then yes or no

In my morality, humane treatment is an obligation without regard to the end result. Proper, moral or ethical, treatment is the objective without regard to the end result (what I do or do not gain from the process). What I receive does not govern how I should act. It is not quite relevant.
