Well, at 55 you should see a urologist at least every few years anyway, so go see one and get checked out. Often a change in odors or frequency for example can be a sign of a potential problem. This assumes the odor is not just due to eating a lot of broccoli yesterday but is an ongoing thing.

Some foods like Asparagus can cause strong urine smell .

Either you have a urinary tract infection, or a bladder / kidney infection, or you are dehydrated.

In the case of the latter (dehydration) you need to drink 2 to 4 pints of daily.

See your dr or hospital for urine/blood tests for the former.see the link for details of urine smell and diagnosis.

Drinking cranberry juice is a natural remedy for uti

It is possibly due to your foods taken.

Large meat or onion, etc will cause more smell.

But, if it is continue for several days or longer period, your kidney may be sick.

Go to doctor to chrck it.

If your urine is yellow, I believe it means you need to drink more water. Try four to five bottles of water a day, it should make it become odorless and clear.
