Christians: Is the EU the fulfillment of the prophecy of Daniel 2:42-43, and will Brexit be followed by other nations.?

Daniel 2:

42 And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken.

43 And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.

44 And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.

Strangely enough, I never thought about the European Union in relation to Bible prophecies until getting out of Europe triggered in my memory the biblical phrase, "Get out of her, my people, so that you will not share with her in her sins, so that you will not receive any of her plagues". That's in Revelation 18:4 - not Daniel.

Verse 9 adds that the kings of the earth who committed adultery with her and shared her luxury will weep and mourn when God's judgment comes on this symbolic Babylon. Daniel's prophecy involved literal Babylon.

There was a prophetic word that came to an elderly Christian lady in Valdres, Norway, back in 1968, which is now clearly coming to pass, particularly from 2000 onward. I give the link below for anyone interested in checking this out, for it mentioned a flood of people coming from the south into Europe and being treated very badly. It has not been until 3 or 4 years past that this could be seen as the result of the Syrian civil war, plus massive trouble for people in Africa with the spread of Islam. It mentioned a lot of other things too, which were unimaginable in 1968. After a while God's judgment comes. Have a look.

The first four kingdoms have been identified as the Babylonian, Persian, Greek and Roman Empires. This identification has come from the workings of history matching further prophecies. Daniel already said that Babylon, specifically Nebuchadnezzar, was the head of gold (Daniel 2:38). Babylon fell to the kingdom of the Medes and the Persians (Daniel 5:26-31). Greece became the successor to the Medo-Persian Empire (Daniel 8:20-21; 10:20 - 11:14). The “iron” empire can only be Rome.

Opinions differ on the fifth empire. Some believe that the clay/iron empire is yet to come: the kingdom of the Antichrist will be a “revived Roman Empire.” According to Revelation 17:12-13 the Antichrist will lead a coalition of ten nations (the statue’s ten toes?). And we know that Christ will defeat the forces of the Antichrist (Revelation 17:14). After that, Jesus will set up His kingdom—the rock smashes the image—and the kingdoms of this world will “become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he will reign for ever and ever” (Revelation 11:15).

As for other nations following Britain's example to leave the E.U. that remains to be seen. We won't know who will make up the feet of iron and clay until after the Antichrist has been revealed. Regardless of the political situation in Europe right now, we would be advised to concentrate on following Christ Jesus and leave the outworking of God's plans to God.

There seems little doubt that many "conservative" American Christians are terrified of the EU. I guess it goes with the general run of paranoia so evident among them.

So you identify the EU with one of those silly beasts from that silly Revelation book or something else from your silly interpretations of the Bible and try to prophesy.

Yeah, just another prophecy from loopy Americans, as worthless as the last hundred.

When are you going to wake up?

Yea these 27 nations will be cut down to 10 and from one of these 10 will the Anti-Christ Beast come forth for world domination. One world government, one world religion. A Beast system put in place to bring all into submission, headed by no other than Satan himself. It's mean, it's bad, it's coming!

Trying to fit modern events into primitive religion just ridicules your religion!

Since Chrsitianity is a faith what you are doing is showing a lack of it!

No.The kingdom of heaven, ruled by Jesus will fulfil that prophecy. He is already ruling and will soon take over the earth.

Odd. I remember when the EU was a new thing, Christians everywhere were claiming its existence and success was a fulfillment of the prophesy on that antichrist thing, with the antichrist uniting the world under one government. So which is it, or are you guys just seeing what happens, then shoehorning it to fit your alleged prophesies?
