Credit Card Info Stolen?

I recently went on a trip across country and somewhere along the way my credit card info was hacked at a gas pump. I have the physical card. Yesterday I tried buying school clothes for my child and it said "insufficient funds" so I checked my account and $495 dollars was withdrawn from an ATM in Las Vegas (I live in Mississippi). This card is a child support card that is issued through the government and the card is a Comerica bank card. I tried calling every number I could. I went to the child support office and they said they couldn't do anything. I went to the police department and all they said I could do is file a report. I called Comerica but they said they couldn't do anything. This kinda of thing happens every day so how does someone get their money back!!??? So if anyone knows what I should do or a number to a LIVE PERSON please let me know. Thank you.

Did you talk to the fraud department at Comerica? That would be the first step.

Going forward do not use this account (or the new account) for anything other than a bank transfer.

    - You get the money into the account and immediately transfer it to a traditional bank account.

    - In fact, burn the card and only use the account not the debit card feature

Additionally, it is never suggested that you use a debit card. As you can see your money can be withdrawn and you have no protection unless the bank wants to provide it. Credit cards are different and include credit card protection laws.
