How can God creating the universe be called "intelligent design" when there are so many stupid people on this planet?

I don't think you mean stupid in the literal sense. People rarely use words like stupid or retarded in reference to people who, by virtue of some brain problem, cannot think properly.

I assume you mean people who seem to lack sense, or disagree with you.

As Plato well knew, people aren't "stupid" per se. However, in groups, people often behave in ways they may not individually, the "mob mentality" so to speak. A professor summarized this idea when he said "Plato felt the masses were asses"

Also, another things that might make people seem "stupid", in the way I believe you mean it, is our basically irrational nature. A person who clings onto ideas that he greatly values, despite evidence to the contrary, displays his type of behavior.

Getting back to your question, I think that the rejection of evolution in favor of "intelligent design" is not a sign of stupidity. It is, however, an example of the kind of behavior I just described-refusing to look at evidence that is threatening to a core value. It could just as well be love of country or why a given sports team is the greatest.

Everything God has created is uniquely designed. Nothing can cross their kinds. An ant never becomes a cockroach. A horse never becomes a cow. Not even kinds of flowers or fish or birds change to be different kinds. There is an influence of disobedience controlling mankind thus making them act stupid. Who does the Bible say has the power to influence people to do bad things? 1 John 5:19 "We know we originate with God, but the whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one." The only stupid people on the planet, are those who do not listen to the teaching of their creator.

This is a fallen world with fallen people...a lot of intelligence has been lost since the creation. BUT, putting that aside, even a total moron is an unbelievably complex entity that could not have arisen by time/chance.

They used and they are using their Free Will in the Wrong Way...

The only world "we" know is one of sin, degradation, wickedness and evil friend. God originally made EVERYTHING GOOD, HOLY AND PERFECT!!! We cannot fathom what it was like😢but soon God will send His only begotten Son to stop this madness called our world, no more sin, pain, loss!!! Sin and death shall be no more!!! Idk about you but I long for that day!!!

Stupid means knowing to do better, but doing it anyway.

You don't have to remain ignorant, but you will be treated as ignorant because you choose to be. Even though He made them, God will have no mercy for those without understanding, and there will be no one to rescue those who are stupid enough to show contempt for their maker. Therefore, as it stands, you are doomed.
