Spain ran all of South and Central America, except Brazil which was Portuguese.

They ran Florida, Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada and most of California.

They were challenged by local independence groups, the USA and other colonial powers as part of various European conflicts.

From North America's Southwest to the tip of South America except Brazil and a few outposts of English and French encroachment mostly in the Caribbean.
