If they're responding to the allegations, presumably they saw merit in them.
Cutting their losses would be one motivation, sincere moral outrage could be another. Who knows?

Love them thar Family Values and Christian Values... hahahahahaha... they SHOULD get rid of that wrinkled, stank dirty old man... unless they go by the GOP credo... IOKIYAR ("It's-Ok-If-You're-A-Republican") but I somehow sense some outrage for the serial sexual harasser!
