What guidelines for U.S. intervention (militarily, diplomatically, or economically) should exist?

    Intervene if it benefits the President personally. For example, if one of your campaign contributors is Halliburton, start a war so you can clear your debt to them. Or, if the President is up for reelection and the public wants a war because they are angry about something, start the war so you can get reelected. Basically start and end the war based on whatever is convenient/beneficial to the President.

    Dont intervine, we intervened in the middle east and look how well that turned out. We should leave the intervention crap up to NATO
