University for art, need some help?

I really want to become a great artist. I'm nowhere good now, but I'm going to get better soon. I am really dreaming of being at a university for art, even though all I hope to do is drawing and digital paintings etc.

I had however, planned to join the army after college. So I'm applying as a combat medic, I don't have any A levels.. I have a level 2 Btec..

I never really thought I'd be interested in going to university, and I had issues and problems when I was a teen so I never got good enough entries for A levels.

Is Art also a worthy choice when picking something to do at university too, I mean to ask because some people say it's a waste of a subject.

    If you study art at university; what do you plan to do then?

    Very few people make a living as an artist.

    If you are an artist, you need to be contented with your pay. You need a very good portfolio to display your talents. Have you won art competitions?

    Do you have a good CV?

    Going to army and being an artist are two worlds apart. So make up your mind.
