Phantom of the Opera (movie) Opening?

This has always bugged me. In the auction scene, at the beginning of the movie, you see the Vicompte and the woman who played Madame Giry. What I'm wondering is, is that actually meant to be her, or is it her daughter? I know it's the same woman who played her, but given how much time had passed, it doesn't seem likely that she'd still be alive. And, even if she were, it seems equally unlikely for her to look almost exactly the same as she did back when the main story takes place.

Another option I recently thought of, was that she may be a hallucination. Maybe the Vicompte is seeing her there when she actuality isn't, because, in his old age, and having lost Christine, he needed a familiar face to help him cope, so he imagined her.

Most people I've talked to say it's Madame Giry, but I can't help but think otherwise.

I guess I could be over-thinking it. It could just be an oversight the makers of the movie didn't think anyone would notice.
