  • What is a fair price for a Sanyo Xacti VCP-CG20 Dual Camera in perfect condition with no charger?

I found someone selling this, and it is exactly the camera I've been looking for. They want me to make an offer, but I want to make them a fair offer, and I have no idea what that would be. To be honest, the fact that it doesn't have a charger doesn't really bother me too much, because I can get one for a really low price, but I also think that my offer should reflect the fact that I do have to buy it separately. Does anyone have an idea as to how much would be fair? Thanks in advance.

  • Could the Antichrist be saved?

I'm not asking if he would seek salvation. I'm simply asking if, if he did rebel against Satan, and seek salvation, would God grant it to him? The Bible says that any man who seeks salvation, and lives by the Word, they shall have it. Since the Antichrist will be a man, would this apply to him? Also, would he even know that he is the Antichrist?

  • What determines if a movie is bad?

Mainly, what I'm wondering is if a movie isn't good when viewed as the genre it is meant to be, but it is good if viewed as another genre, does that make it a bad movie. Like, if a horror movie doesn't work as a horror movie, but is genuinely enjoyable if viewed as a romance, or if a dramatic movie seems more like a really hilarious comedy. Does a movie's failure as its intended genre make it a failure as a movie? The reason I ask is that art is subjective. Even great historical paintings are open to interpretation, and there are as many opinions about them as there are people who view them, meaning nobody feels exactly the same way about them as the artist did, but they aren't considered bad because if it.

  • Old Cartoon about a dog and a coyote who are friends?

I'm not talking about Sam and Ralph. This is a standalone cartoon where the two characters are best friends, but one day the dog beats up the coyote because his owner is around when the coyote is trying to steal sheep. Up until that point, they both kind of treated it as a game, and nobody ever got hurt, but it was made clear what would happen if the coyote showed up while a human was around. The coyote then decides he's going to kill the dog by shooting him, and the dog shows up to meet him, because he kind of feels guilty, and let's the coyote shoot him, only to find out that he was using a wooden gun.

  • What is the problem with tipping?

I don't get why people are getting upset or "taking a stand" against tipping. What is the difference in tipping the wait staff and paying for labor at a mechanic? Yeah, they are doing less work, but it's also a significantly lower amount of money. Even as a percentage of your total money spent, the amount you would tip your waiter/waitress is significantly less. The only exception to this is when you go to a mechanic and have to buy a really expensive part that doesn't take much time and energy to install, and sometimes, the percentage for labor is still higher.

The only difference anyone has been able to show is that labor is automatically added to your bill. That's actually worse, because, even people who generally do tip at restaurants have control over the amount they tip. They can make a decision on what to pay based on how well they have been treated. Why is having this ability taken from you better?

  • What is the purpose of blood types?

Now, I know why it's important to know about blood types, so you don't risk giving someone the wrong blood. What I'm curious about is why it exists. Is there an evolutionary advantage to having blood types?

Also, just a little bit of curiosity. What is it that causes such a strong reaction when someone is given the wrong blood type?

  • Grandmother with dementia doesn't recognize me?

My grandmother has been diagnosed with dementia, and she's been that way for about a year now. Until recently, however, she has always remembered who we all are, but she would sometimes hear voices, and imagine conversations that never happened.

Now, she doesn't recognize me, at all. Worse than that, though, any time she sees me, she thinks I'm my father. Now, he is not the best person, in the world (and that's a huge understatement). He was extremely abusive to my sister and I, as well as our mother. After we left, we haven't seen him in years. Anyway, whenever we go to see her, she starts getting mad, and yelling at me when I walk in, because she thinks I am him. And, she won't ever let me tell her who I am, or that I'm not him. She interrupts me, and screams for me to leave. Honestly, considering how much he put all of us through, I can't blame her for her reaction to seeing someone she believes to be him, but this means that I'm never able to see her anymore, and I'm not sure hours much time she may have left.

I just wish there was something I could do to make her stop thinking I'm him, because I really want to spend time with her, but at the same time, I don't want to cause her to get upset every time I'm there, because of who she thinks I am.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this? Does anyone know of anything I could do to remedy this? Thanks a lot for any kind of advice you may be able to give.

  • Would a (tobacco) pipe be a good investment?

I've recently started rolling my own cigarettes, to save money, and I've gotta say, it's working out fairly well. However, I have recently experienced a problem I didn't foresee. Namely, I ran out of tubes on a day that the store that sells them was closed. Luckily, I had a friend that rolls their own, as well, and they gave me some, but I'd rather not rely on that, because that takes away from them (I paid them back, for them, but that still took some away on that day, and I don't like the idea of being the reason they may run out). Obviously, I'm going to stay buying more than I have been, but, to be safe, would a pipe be a good idea to get, just in case this may happen again?

  • Brontosaurus?

This thing is getting confusing. First, Brontosaurus seemed to be the correct name, then they announced that it was a dinosaur that had already been named, and it was, instead, called Apatosaurus.

All that was fine, though, but now, I keep hearing about how Brontosaurus is actually being used again, and the reasons are different anywhere I look it up. Some say that they've looked over the one named Brontosaurus again, and after comparing it with Apatosaurus, they now see just enough of a difference for them to consider them a separate species. Another explanation I've seen, states that it's because, after going through archives, they discovered that the name Brontosaurus actually predates Apatosaurus as the name of this same dinosaur, so they've gone back to that one, now. The other popular explanation is similar to the previous one. It states that the name Brontosaurus did exist before Apatosaurus, but it was given to a completely different Sauropod.

Which one is correct, and if none of them are, then what is the reason Brontosaurus has started being used again?

    Thanks for any info.

  • Dragon Quest V young hero stats?

Is there any difference between the stat growth of the hero when he is a child, and even he's an adult? Would leveling up as a child be a bad idea, in the long run?

  • If the Titanic and Olympic switch actually had happened?

Disclaimer: Don't answer with anything like "it didn't, so it doesn't matter". Whether it happened or not it's irrelevant to the question. I'm asking what would happen if it had happened, not if it happened.

I've always thought this theory was, if nothing else, interesting to think about. I can't say whether I believe it or not, because both sides have their merits. What I'm wondering is, if it were to, in the future, be proven that the two had been switched, and the Olympic, masquerading as the Titanic, had been sank on purpose, in order to collect insurance money, would anything happen to the Cunard Line? I know White Star Line was owner of Titanic, but the two companies have since merged. Would they be penalized for it? I know it's been over 100 years, and I don't know if a Statute of Limitation for mass murder (which is what it would be) exists in the UK, but, since there were American passengers, could the US do anything?

Is what would happen now, after the two have merged, any different than what would have happened if they hadn't merged, and White Star Line was still around on its own? I don't expect the people working for or running the company to get punished, but the company, itself. In reality, if it were discovered to be true, would there be any actions taken because of it?

  • Why are some Bernie Sanders supporters trying to cheapen his character?

    This really bugs me.

During his campaign, he stated, many times, that he would never let fear force him to announce his support for anyone or anything he didn't actually believe in. Yet, now people are trying to say that he was threatened in order to force him to give Hillary support.

These are the same people who stood behind him and believed in everything he said, but now, they are saying he is doing the same thing that people attacked Hillary for doing.

Basically, if Bernie Sanders was threatened into saying he supported Hillary, then it looks worse on him than it does her, because it means his entire campaign was a lie.

So, what gives? Are these guys turning on him, or are they just looking for ways to manufacture controversy?

  • Can a solid ever actually be transparent?

People consider clear glass, such as windows, to be transparent, but is it really? I thought transparency meant that light completely passes through, without being reflected, but this isn't the case with glass, because, from certain angles, you can kind of see reflections. Am I totally off-base here?

  • What would the point of forgetting our lives on Earth when we get to Heaven?

What is the reason behind people thinking we'll forget our lives on Earth when we get to Heaven? I keep hearing two different reasons, but neither makes sense to me. The first one is that remembering life here would show sadness into Heaven, but I can't imagine that to be the case. How could you ever feel sadness when in the presence of God? No matter what horrible things you went through, in life, there should be nothing that could make you sad when you get to Heaven. The second is that people seem to think that you forget, that way you have no personal ties to anyone else, and can live completely for God. But, would you even make it to Heaven in the first place if anything could keep you from living for God?

Maybe I'm missing something, but I remember the Bible making mention of people in Heaven remembering life on Earth. Both Abraham and Elijah were able to remember. Not only that, but their new bodies must have either looked the same as their old bodies, or they must have had some way of communicating who they were, because people recognized them without being introduced. The story of Lazarus and the Rich Man also states that people on both sides can remember. I know this was a story, and not something that actually happened, but Jesus was the one telling the story. I have a hard time believing that Jesus would lie about what would happen in Heaven.

  • Dragon Quest VIII Skillsets?

If tl;dr, skip to the bottom. Thanks for any advice.

I recently got the remake/port of this game on Android. I haven't really played it yet, save for starting it up to make sure it would run on my device, but I loved the original version.

Back then, I used, what I guess you would call the standard skillsets for the characters: Swords/Spears for the Hero, Axes/Scythes for Yangus, Whip/Sex Appeal for Jessica, and Bows/Charisma for Angelo. This was pretty much what I did every time. This time, I'm wanting to do it differently.

I'm thinking Boomerangs for the Hero, Fisticuffs for Yangus, Staves for Jessica, and Sword for Angelo. I keep reading that Boomerangs are awful, but I'm kind of tired of just using the usual stuff. I don't know about any of the others, because there is a lot of mixed feelings about them, so I'm not sure what to believe.

Anyway, would these choices be viable? I don't mind having to do a bit of extra grinding, or having to change my usual playstyle in order to use these, but are there going to be any points that would normally be easy that would become super hard as a result of this? Would I still be able to beat the main game, and the post game with this setup?

    Tl;dr?

I want to use Boomerangs for the Hero, Fisticuffs for Yangus, Staves for Jessica, and Swords for Angelo. I don't want to just use the usual setups. Would the game be exponentially harder with this setup? Could I still do everything, even if it takes a bit more effort?

  • Phantom of the Opera (movie) Opening?

This has always bugged me. In the auction scene, at the beginning of the movie, you see the Vicompte and the woman who played Madame Giry. What I'm wondering is, is that actually meant to be her, or is it her daughter? I know it's the same woman who played her, but given how much time had passed, it doesn't seem likely that she'd still be alive. And, even if she were, it seems equally unlikely for her to look almost exactly the same as she did back when the main story takes place.

Another option I recently thought of, was that she may be a hallucination. Maybe the Vicompte is seeing her there when she actuality isn't, because, in his old age, and having lost Christine, he needed a familiar face to help him cope, so he imagined her.

Most people I've talked to say it's Madame Giry, but I can't help but think otherwise.

I guess I could be over-thinking it. It could just be an oversight the makers of the movie didn't think anyone would notice.

  • Vampire Fangs (again)?

I asked this before, but everyone who answered decided to answer a question I didn't ask. For some reason, instead of answering a question that was obviously about the classic stories about vampires, they all decided to just say that vampires aren't real. So, here it is again.

How do they work? I can think of two ways that they may work:

    1. Used only to puncture the skin, to allow the blood to flow, and drinking it normally, or

2 with holes/tubes in the fangs that would act like a snake's fangs, but in reverse. In this scenario, the blood would not go to their stomachs, but through the fangs, and directly to the arteries/veins.

Hopefully, people will be a bit more intelligent this time, and actually answer the question, instead of just typing "vampires aren't real"

  • Pokémon Go cheating?

Can someone explain why people are trying to cheat the GPS on Pokémon Go? Walking is a part of the gameplay, so why play a game if you don't like the gameplay? Physical disabilities, I could understand limiting your mobility, but I don't understand why anxiety around strangers is a fair reason to cheat. One: you don't have to talk to anyone. Two: it's not other people's fault that you have it, so it's not fair to give yourself an advantage over someone who doesn't. I have anxiety around people too, so I don't go to public areas, or I play while in the car (not while driving), so I don't see any need to cheat. There is nothing to be proud of if you cheat. Can anyone help me understand this?

  • Changing crimes?

Is there any special procedure that is used if one is convicted of one crime, and afterwards, that crime changes? I don't mean they do something afterwards, in addition to the first one, but that, if they are convicted of something like assault or attempted murder, and after that conviction, that person dies as a result of the injuries they sustained. In this scenario, would there have to be another case, or would the conviction of the original crime be enough, since they have already been convicted of causing the injuries that led to that person dying? Also, if one were to assault someone, and years later, that person died as a result of something those injuries caused, would they be held responsible?
