Would a (tobacco) pipe be a good investment?
I've recently started rolling my own cigarettes, to save money, and I've gotta say, it's working out fairly well. However, I have recently experienced a problem I didn't foresee. Namely, I ran out of tubes on a day that the store that sells them was closed. Luckily, I had a friend that rolls their own, as well, and they gave me some, but I'd rather not rely on that, because that takes away from them (I paid them back, for them, but that still took some away on that day, and I don't like the idea of being the reason they may run out). Obviously, I'm going to stay buying more than I have been, but, to be safe, would a pipe be a good idea to get, just in case this may happen again?

You're an addict, most addicts make a fetish of their method of smoking. Given that the nicotine delivery is different for a cigarette than a pipe (you inhale less with a pipe), you likely would not enjoy it.
You rarely see people who have established the one habit substituting the other, without feeling a distinct lack.
Would buying a pipe be cheaper? Yes. Would you be happy smoking a pipe? Likely not.
