Being born in the UK does no longer make you a British citizen since 1983 when birthright citizenship was abolished.

To acquire British citizenship by being born in the UK requires at least one parent to hold British citizenship or to have Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) or Permanent Residency (PR) status.

Your child has acquired your nationality since you do not have ILR/PR.
