why do movies have color filters?
recently watched a movie at the theater and most of the movie had a weird pinkish tiny(with the exception of scenes where the background was nearly all white or blue/green,then the haze was removed). another movie had a preview with a purple tint(which fortunately didn't show up at least as much in the version I saw).

To create specific moods. Some movies will use different tints to help visually distinguish different settings or tones in the story.
