As an unrepentant LGBT person, why shouldn't I reach out through the media to "normalize" what I am to younger people?

If I no longer fear perdition but accept and embrace my eventual eternal separation from your God, what more does he have to threaten me with? Have I rendered God powerless?

How are you going to reach out through the media and why would you think you could affect the standards and values of younger people?

There is no God to have made powerless, except in the fantasy of fundies.

Or, are you in denial about your true feelings?

What's your motivating factor about all of this? If someone were to walk up to you and say, "I embrace being set on fire" it would be safe to assume that person isn't thinking clearly. You'd have to wonder what would drive a person to say that. They'd probably have to be in a lot of deep pain to make that proclamation. So, is it the "being set on fire" that they want, or is it a denial of their inner pain that's so deep and profound it's unbearable?

The person who says, "I don't care" usually cares a lot.

The serpent didn't tempt Eve with the fruit first... The temptation was to get her to doubt that God is Good. Once she doubted, the devil got her to eat the fruit. God never threatened her.

God isn't a parent or teacher who threatens punishment for lack of obedience. Discipline and punishment are not the same thing. Discipline comes from the Latin, 'to teach', so the consequence is a lesson to teach. Punishment is simply something negative intended to stop a behavior. It doesn't teach, or, if it does, it teaches incorrectly.

Many parents and teachers punish rather, they don't know how to discipline, so they inflict punishments that are unjust and harmful. We see God like we see harsh authority... Out to punish us if we mess up.

But God is Good. If the Gospels tell us anything about Christ, is that He is gentle and compassionate towards sinners. He is especially gentle and kind to the sexual sinners.... The Prostitute, Mary Magdalene, the woman at the well.... He was harsh on those who judged others and pretended they weren't sinners, such as the Pharisees and Scribes.

So, if you are thinking of God as punitive, then you have a false image of who God is. God created you and sees you as beautiful and loves you where you are right now. You are beautifully and wonderfully made.

No you haven't and He never threatened you. I will give a hundred dollars to anyone who gives me a text where God threatens any gays outside of the Levitical creed that is much more than suspect, it contradicts itself and makes God out to be a racist and a liar. Paul doesn't count because God never spoke through him. How come everyone in the Bible who condemn homosexuality also condemns women and other races? That's right only racists and sexists have ever been known to condemn homosexuality. That's a group I don't want anything to do with. Jesus certainly never condemned them. He loved everyone and God is love.

Alright I'm not going to push any religion on you. But the idea that you can render God powerless by not caring makes no sense at all. No offense. That is like saying that since I can't see you, you don't exist. The fact that you don't worry, doesn't mean that God doesn't have power. Again, this is all whether you even believe in God, or a higher power/intelligence in the first place. If you believe in God but just want to reject God just cuz you're LGBT, well here's another idea: We all screw up k? Being LGBT isn't the worst thing ever, unless you try to use it to shut others from speaking their minds. Those LGBT people that won't try to gain special privileges are cool in my eyes since they accept themselves for who they are, but don't try to force us to worship their rights. Anyways, back to the point. We all screw up. Being LGBT is no worse than cheating on your partner. They're all signs of imperfection.

Now let's go back and define why a sin is a sin. Sins aren't sins just because God wants to boss you around. Instead it's quite the opposite. A sin is a sin because it is bad for you and can lead you down a bad path in life that will lead to unhappiness. The fact that LGBT sometimes- and this doesn't mean you- try to push us to support them is bad since we have already accepted you for who you are(most of the non-LGBT people). Asking us to give you extra love and support puts you above others. Having sex before marriage isn't just some bossy power play from God. It's good for you because if you start to get focused more on banging every night, you'll forget how much you enjoy each others presence. A couple shouldn't be focused only on sleeping around all the time or they won't know if they will have a happy relationship or they'll eventually get bored of each other and leave. Really it's not worse than a straight person who cheats on their partner.

God doesn't threaten you. It's just a knowledge that if you focus on God instead of one small part of your life, you'll be in a better place. God doesn't want to completely change you to make you a "perfect christian." God wants you to put aside the small things in life and focus on Him. That means that even though you are LGBT, it doesn't define who you are. I'm pretty sure you've heard "that's my car, not me" sometime before. It's the same as being LGBT. That's a small part of you, it's not the entirety of who you are. So making a whole big deal about it isn't going to help you out at all in life. If you live with good people around, they won't care that you're LGBT as long as you don't try to push them around from it. They won't try to push you to be something that you're not.

Okay now I'll answer your first question(sorry it took so long to get here). You shouldn't try to normalize LGBT to younger people because then it's raising a generation to think it's something to be proud of. Okay before you take offense at this, please understand that I'm not saying it's a horrible thing to be LGBT. What I'm saying is that you don't want them to celebrate it to the point where it's just as normal as a straight person, because most of us are naturally going to be attracted to girls if someone is a boy, and a boys if someone a girl. We already accept you, don't make it awkward for us by trying to spread it like it's a religion because it's not. So if to you, normalize is to gain acceptance, you already have it from most people, there is nothing else to really normalize. We also don't want the norm of society to be LGBT if you know what I mean. So sorry if anything I wrote here was offensive, I'm just saying this from a position that I believe is right.

What is 'eternal separation from God?' Who taught you this concept? Are you together with God now? You are not the person giving God power. God has his power always. No one can steal that power from him. Repentance every Sunday is not repentance. It is a mockery of repentance. Repentance is once. Repentance is changing life once and for all.

There never were threats, only love. You're in the perfect position to feel His power.
