What is virginity? and what does it mean to not be a virgin anymore?

I think everyone has their own view on it. In some cultures, it is purity. It means that a person has been untouched by sexual action. In some cultures, marriage is the only time virginity may be taken and if it is taken before marriage, that person is no longer pure in the eyes of god. This is generally more important with women, who can be killed for losing their virginity (even through rape) before marriage.

I personally believe that it doesn't exist. It is a social stigma surrounding sex and a person's first time, it is a barrier for men and women that has caused many deaths, it is in the grand scheme of things, unimportant.

If you have not had sex ever, you are a virgin and still have your virginity. If you have had sex even once, you are no longer a virgin and have lost your virginity.

Simple. A virgin is someone who has not had sex.
