Why is North Korea threatening nuclear warfare? Are they really going to bomb us?

North Korea threatens to bomb the US about once a year. They feel neglected when the world ignores them, so they start making threats.

They've done this since the Korean War ended 60 years ago.

In reality, the entire world, including N. Korea, knows that these are empty threats. If N. Korea were to actually try anything, the retaliation from the combined S. Korean and US forces along the border would ensure that N. Korea wouldn't be around any longer.

My son has been deployed with the army in South Korea several times. I used to worry when I heard the threats from North Korea that they would go to war for this or that offense. He told me that what the American troops do is watch the Korean people. If they get worried and start running, then it's serious. The South Koreans view the North's rhetoric as just so much political posturing.

American government isn't taking it seriously. America and South Korea are having military exercises in South Korea. This made North Korea nervous, so they threatened.

The only way to stop war is for everyone to govern themselves with the Law..and if any fights break then it will be in the home, and not out on the streets. If they tear up their own house, then they will have to build another, and no one will be responsible for it. That would stop that in a hurry at the thought, until eventually that thought isn't worth thinking about anymore. The bigger the government, the more corruption can grow within it, and no one really know where its coming from. It is what it is, at this point. We've all had enough history lessons about it, and experience with it.

I think they actually do have nuclear capabilities, the UN has confirmed this, although I think if they were to unleash a warhead it would go up a few feet into the air and then land back on them. That's why nothing is done other than laughing.

How are they going to bomb us?

Bombs are dropped from planes. They don't have to capability to get a plane anywhere near the US.

They also don't have bombs. They have warheads for missiles that fail every time they test them, and don't have enough range to reach the US.

In case you haven't noticed, the illustrious Kim family has been threatening us for years. They don't have anything else to do, besides starving and killing their own people.

Who knows why the little fat man makes things up to brain wash his citizens with.

NO one wants anything to do with North Korea!

They want the U.S. to end sanctions. They have no other way to make this point since U.S. wont talk to them, and U.S. wont even participate in 6-party talks.

Talk is cheap. They can eventually hurt us, but they would end up destroying themselves in the end.

No its scaremongering to keep his people in check.
