soaking dishes in a warm or hot soapy water will make cleaning them easier. At least easier than if you had left the soiled dishes to dry and you would then have dried on food on the dishes.

It is probably more efficient to wash them right away but not dangerous to leave them.

If I do not have a lot of dishes I will run them under water and wipe with a soapy sponge or rag. Then they will get loaded into the dishwasher and the load will be done the next day.

Yes, it's extremely dangerous. If you leave you dishes in water overnight they come alive from the moonlight shining through the water, and they get a blood lust for people! No one can legally ever leave a dish in water overnight due to the cutlery attack of 1853. It was a sad, sad year.... Many people died then. Ever sense the government has been secretly monitoring all dishes that are made, insuring that they are coated with a very thin, clear layer of spider silk to help relax the dish in the event that it does come alive.

Not if you wash them thoroughly the next day. I always soak my dishes in hot soapy water with a little bit of bleach added to them. The next day, I dump out the cold water and put some soap on a sponge or cloth and wash and rinse them. If you have a lot of stuck on gunk, this soaking makes it very easy to wash the dishes.

Nope, not in the slightest. In fact you can leave them there for days

Did KP while at college and occasionally a pot would be burnt black. Found it best to leave that type for a week.

Given its detergent thats going in and it will go cold anyway, save the planet and use cold to begin with.

That will promote bacterial growth, especially if water is warm.

Better to wash with detergent then rinse in clean water with bleach.

Put the dishes in warm water and put soap tablets in there to break up the grease and it should be a bit easier to clean it
