I am confused about the restaraunt payments?

I am planning on opening a mini pizza restaraunt. Lets say I have 10 workers. They get paid 9 dollars per hour for 10 hours. What the heak? If I am making 1000 dollars every day from my restaraunt, does that mean I have to pay my employees 900, or am I thinking the wrong way? I plan on making at least 200,000 every year.

employing 10 people sounds a bit much, if you take in $1K a day and pay out $900 in wages you need to reassess your operations

of the daily intake you also consider the cost of the goods you are putting out, you also consider the laid in costs of the rent, the insurance, the utilities, the license, advertising etc

of the wages you also will pay 7.65% for your share of the employee tax, your state might have an employee tax you also pay, and you have to have workmen's comp coverage for these people

in addition if you want good employees you also may consider providing some kind of insurance, health and/or retirement

your post is ultra simple, there is far more to your business than that

Why are they working a 10 hour shift? Standard is 8 hours (which includes two paid 15 minute breaks and one non-paid 1/2 hour lunch).

Are all 10 working on the same day? Then yes, your expenses for salary are going to be that PLUS anything withheld for taxes and insurance coverage.

It's worse than that, you'd also have to pay employer taxes of around $70 on the wages. Plus other expenses, of course. Run the numbers BEFORE you start a business.

Why would you have that many workers? You have to cut costs when you first start a business unless you have a lot of money. It's best to start a business with free workers, like family, but you better pay minimum wage and higher a few high school kids first.

If you have 9 employees all working 10 hours a day, every day, yes. You're numbers are sorta right. Then all other employee related fees.....works comp, unemployment......

My local pizza Hut only has about 6 on shift, including drivers.

Hell, my college drunk food pizza place had about 7 during peak hours, including delivery drivers.....

I think you started without a business plan. If you had a business plan for your restaurant, you would know how much to pay your workers and how many hours to have them work...you would also know what your profits would be.

Either ask your accountant, lawyer or a friend to make you a business plan or go on line and buy one. Try Fiverr.

Did you make a business plan with 5 year projections? If you didn't do not open your restaurant until you do.

Don't pay them 9$ an hour

you might want to consider starting with fewer workers
